Hello, I'm Tim.
I 💖 automating things.

I'm a technologist, founder and engineer from Melbourne, Australia with a passion for performance and a love of automating things.

I spent my early career as an officer in the Australian Army before building a career in software engineering, performance and automation. In 2013 I founded Flood IO, a distributed load test platform serving thousands of organisations globally. Flood was acquired by Tricentis in 2017.

Since then I've been building with high performance databases, quantitative finance and machine learning, and chasing a growing obsession with open-water swimming since a certain global pandemic. I spent a year travelling around Australia with my family, swimming the best beaches we could find, and recently completed my third winter crossing of the notorious Rip at the entrance to Port Phillip Bay, in nothing but speedos.

Now I'm bringing those worlds together through squizz.ai, using machine learning, computer vision and smart engineering to understand your swim history and performance. Built first for me and the mates I swim with, in a pool, lake, river or ocean.
